Tolly's isn't just a great place to eat , its a way of life for our exquisite little town. Over the years i have met people from all over the States and many from other counties there. Tollys have touched the lives of so many, there have been weddings, family meetings, business meetings and many more activeies held at Tollys. Whenever my family or children come to Oakland ,, Tollys is a must place to go. Who ever is lucky enough to win Tollys will be inheriting the history and love of the many people it has touched over the years. Good luck Myra and Jeff and welcome to the newest family member of Oakland whoever you maybe.

When I heard about The Contest, my mind went to town! I've loved Tolly's for many years (Circa Paul Tollefson in the 80s) and, though I'm not a chef, I have managed restaurants and night clubs. I sent quite awhile trying to enlist a culinary partner. Tolly's has seemed the perfect place to realize my dream: Improvisational LIVING Dinner THEATER. Visiting Oakland is like stepping into history and Tolly's could bring that history to life and taste even more with a staff true to 1906 when the building went up. Servers would be actors with a real sense of early 20th century propriety and formality. For contrast, other actors could pose as a coarser element -- miners, trappers and the like who come in and want a fancy dinner and maybe more. It's a set up for all kinds of interesting scenarios including, maybe, a comedic flash of the present like a cel phone ringing and the staff member having a conversation with some notable from a different era wanting a reservation

Sorry, just a tad more: My family came to Portland in the mid-1800s and I have a deep appreciation for Oregon History and authenticity, so if the new owners of Tolly's want to have some fun at least discussing possibilities, please give me a call in Eugene. I'm semi-retired yet I still give My All to my passions!
