Rochester Covered Bridge
One of only about 50 covered bridges left in Oregon, this picturesque bridge is located near Oakland. Take Highway 38 west to County Road 10-A. Travel about a mile further to the bridge. Build in 1933, Rochester Covered Bridge is famous for its graceful arched windows. We especially enjoy seeking out old covered bridges and this is one of the nicest.
Oakland Museum
Wonderful old photographs and period pieces from the mid 1850's are displayed here. Early pioneers traveling along the Applegate Trail passed through this beautiful part of Oregon and settled here. This photographic exhibit is well done and well worth your time. |
